My Shrimp Fried Rice
I love going to Benihana’s so after watching them make their shrimp fried rice I knew it was something I could do at home. You will need some white rice, chicken, sausage, shrimp, egg, butter, soy sauce, garlic salt, onion, green onion, and some mixed veggies you know carrots and peas. First you make your rice and put it in the fridge. I use my griddle to prepare this so I can have that Benihana’s feel, I butterfly my chicken breast (cut down the middle north to south) after my shrimp are cleaned and sausage is chopped I add a little salt and pepper and start cooking all the meat and onions. Once you got that going I make some garlic butter, heat up some butter add some garlic salt and powder and you have your garlic butter. With your mixed vegetables you can either steam them or boil them. Check on your meat and once it’s cooked through on both sides chop up your chicken, get your rice out and put that on a section on your griddle. Your rice is now reheating so add your mixed veggies, some garlic butter and soy sauce to your rice for that darker rice look and let that cook down a bit so you can get that color you want. Make a little spot in your rice and crack a egg or two don’t worry it will cook, once your egg is done add all the meat to your rice, mix it up real good and add a little more soy sauce and garlic butter. While cooking I taste a lot and I advise you to as well because only you know the amount of seasoning and ingredients you like for your own preference.
